VCA EMPLOYMENT

VCA Code provides code administration services to municipal jurisdictions including city and county building and fire departments. Our services include plan review, inspection, temporary staffing and assistance with computerized permit processing, as well as training and green code consulting.

We are currently seeking qualified individuals to join our Code Administration Team. VCA offers attractive compensation and benefits packages. VCA Code

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

LEED AP/CALGreen Professional


Engage in green code training and assist clients with green code compliance. Must be familiar with construction practices and permitting, have a track record with green building standards, and have experience with commercial construction. Exceptional writing skills required. Certification as PE, CEM, CCP PMP, or HERS a plus.

Mechanical Engineer

Must be a California licensed Mechanical Engineer and familiar with California Energy Code application and LEED applications. Familiarity with construction practices and building codes related to commercial occupanies is necessary. Exceptional writing skills required.

Technical Specification Writer

Work with the VCA Green and VCA Code team with ongoing and future projects. Familiarity with material testing and National Testing Standards needed. Exceptional writing skills required. Minimum five years experience and/or four year technical degree.

Plan Check Engineer

Review of architectural plans, structural plans, and engineering calculations for Building Code requirements. Projects include residential and commercial buildings of all types of construction and materials such as wood, masonry, steel, and concrete. P.E. Registration and Plans Examiner Certification a plus.

Senior Plan Check Engineer

Plan Check review of residential and commercial buildings as well as supervision and management skills. In depth knowledge of the model Building Codes and 5+ years plan-checking experience. Professional registration required.

Building Inspector

Perform skilled inspections for a variety of buildings to ensure compliance with the Building Code, as well as approved plans and specifications. Requires excellent communication, supervisory skills and ICC certification.

Permit Technician

Process building permits for specific jurisdictions. Duties include: reviewing and coordinating plan-check submittals; calculating fees for construction projects; providing information and assistance in written and oral form to the public. Excellent communication skills, computer knowledge, and knowledge of building industry required.
